The heart behind the lights

Kevin Liguori with his father Michael beside their family Christmas tree in 2018

Kevin and Michael Liguori, Christmas 2018 — the final season of their original family light display.

A Father's Support. A Son's Dream. A Tradition That Shines On.

Christmas Illuminations LI began with a boy, his father, and a shared love of Christmas. In 2009, Kevin Liguori started building the holiday display he had dreamed about as a child, with his father Michael by his side.

While other kids enjoyed summer break, Kevin was often inside as early as July, programming Christmas music to synchronize with the lights he and Michael collected. Every hour was worth it when families gathered outside to smile, celebrate, and enjoy the show.

As the display grew and attracted attention from News 12, Kevin saw an opportunity to give back. In 2012, he began collecting donations for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. After Michael's brain cancer diagnosis in 2013, the family also supported cancer-related organizations, including the Cancer Care Center of New York and the Brain Tumor Foundation of New York.

Michael's encouragement remained a source of inspiration. With help from extended family and childhood friends, Kevin kept the display shining. Over the years, the holiday tradition helped raise $20,000 for charitable causes.

The original display concluded in 2018, but the dream grew. Kevin founded Christmas Illuminations LI to bring that same wonder to other families, working hand in hand with clients to design a display that feels uniquely theirs.

“The most beautiful part of Christmas isn't the lights themselves. It's the memories we create beneath them.”

Today, every installation carries forward the joy, creativity, and family spirit that started it all.
